Condolences

Norma Colleen Reynolds Boyce passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 (three days before her 91stbirthday) in St. George, Utah. She was born July 15, 1930 in Murray, Utah to Clyde and Ella Reynolds. She married her grade school and high school sweetheart, Rulon Boyce on October 11, 1948 and were married 68 years before her eternal companion passed away in 2016. She lived most of her life in the same neighborhood as her parents, brothers and sister. In her later years, her and her loving husband spent most of their time in St. George where they made many new friends.

She was blessed with four children. Ren, Kathy, Jan, and Chad. Many happy memories were made as they raised their children.

She was the ultimate homemaker always making sure everything was spotless and meticulously in order. No one could come close to the way she could decorate a table for a big dinner for her family or friends. Even until the last few days of her life, you could find her on her knees cleaning the kitchen floor.

She also was very creative with her crafts that she perfected. She had decorated her home with porcelain figures, arrangements of flowers, and anything else that would make her home feel elegant yet comfortable.

Her hobbies were shopping, sewing and mending. When it came to shopping, no one could keep up with her. She loved shoes and had a full closet of shoes to prove it. Being the seamstress she was, she made her girls prom and dance dresses, including wedding dresses.

Living next to her sister, Donna, her entire life was something very special. Even when one moved to a new home, the other would follow. Sister-love was very important to her. And even though they lived exactly next door to each other, they would spend hours on the phone talking with each other every day.

Colleen and Rulon loved traveling with her brothers and sister and their spouses. They went through stages of campers to trailers and finally to motor homes. Her and Rulon loved Bear Lake, Utah Lake, Mantua, St. George, and just being with family.

They were called to serve as missionaries in the St. George Visitors Centers. This time in their lives seemed the happiest ever. They met new missionary friends, golfing friends and did many social things that they both loved.

Colleen never wavered in her testimony of the Savior and the Eternal Plan of Salvation. She always expressed her testimony. It was truly a help as she raised her children in the gospel. And she always gave out advice freely!

Her last three years were spent at the Retreat in St. George. There she made many friends there where their past time was playing cards. From all her family, we would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful people that took care of her the past few years. They were all so caring and giving.

Colleen is survived by her children, Ren (Debi) Boyce, Kathy (Max) Oldroyd, Jan (Richard) Farr and Chad (Cindy) Boyce. She enjoyed her 26 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Colleen was the last sibling in her family to pass. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Rulon; parents, her sister Donna; and her brothers, Shirley Reynolds, Gordon Reynolds and Cal Reynolds.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021. A viewing will be held prior to services at 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by the services at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel located at 7155 South 540 East in Midvale. Interment at Murray City Cemetery.
